【"COVID-19" pandemic updates, Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association stands with you, together combating the "COVID-19"】

This article reports on the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in the world and Taiwan. As of March 27th, Taiwan has reported a total of 267 confirmed cases, with the majority being imported cases. Globally, the total number of confirmed cases is 517,139, mainly distributed in 177 countries/regions. The top three countries with the highest number of confirmed cases are the United States, mainland China, and Italy. The countries with the highest number of deaths are Italy, Spain, and mainland China, and the global case fatality rate is approximately 4.53%.

The Taiwanese government quickly activated its epidemic prevention mechanism after the outbreak and developed a big data epidemic prevention network in collaboration with the medical and IT industries. Various epidemic prevention measures were taken, including the production of masks and protective clothing. In response to the increasing ratio of imported cases, the Central Epidemic Command Center prohibited transit passengers from boarding in Taiwan to reduce the risk of disease transmission. The Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association (TWAEA) also took proactive measures, such as requiring staff to wear masks, regularly disinfecting office areas, and conducting drills for working from home, to ensure smooth operations.

In the education sector, the Ministry of Education encouraged schools to implement distance learning and provided abundant digital resources to ensure that students' learning was not affected. The Ministry of Education collected various digital learning resources and platforms, allowing students to learn independently at home and even offering distance learning courses at universities for credit. Additionally, schools could open courses through open online platforms, covering diverse fields of study, and students and the public could register and take these courses for free.

Faced with the challenges brought by the pandemic, governments and industries worldwide need to adopt an intelligent and positive mindset to actively respond. The article quotes the words of veteran media personality Chen Wen-Qian, urging everyone to show kindness and generosity during these complex times and to take care of themselves and others. We will overcome this, and everything will be fine.
